Emergency readiness

Build a plan before you need it

Save the phone number and address for your primary veterinarian, nearest emergency hospital, and animal poison resource. Keep your pet's medication list, microchip information, vaccination record, insurance policy number, and recent medical records accessible.

Pet insurance may reimburse eligible care, but a clinic can still require payment at the time of service. Maintain a payment plan or emergency savings strategy for deductibles, excluded expenses, and bills paid before reimbursement.
